A video that Lift shared on social media was used to announce the move. The video was retweeted by Morant from his account.

In Memphis, Miller is well-known. After an 18-year NBA career that included two stints with the Grizzlies, he retired and joined Penny Hardaway’s Memphis coaching staff as an assistant coach. Prior to becoming a sports agent, he was Houston High School’s head coach.

After a season in which he hardly played for the Grizzlies in 2023–24, Morant is returning. Due to behavior that was damaging to the league, he was suspended for the first 25 games. After being cleared to play again in December, he only managed to play nine games before sustaining a shoulder injury that ended his season.
