In order to get his “ugly, stinky” feet pedicured, Shaquille O’Neal has admitted to paying $1,000 every time. The former NBA player has even decorated his worn-out toes.
A member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, O’Neal played in the NBA for 19 seasons and amassed 41,918 minutes.
Furthermore, O’Neal claims that his feet “stink,” which prompted the former NBA player to attempt to make some paint patterns work on them.
He stated on The Big Podcast with Shaq, per PEOPLE, “I give about $1,000 because I know my feet stink, I know they’re ugly, and I like to paint them.”
“I want that s*** to look pretty, so I paint it,” he said, going on to say that he enjoys having “sparkles and designs” on his feet.
After that, O’Neal’s podcast clip was reposted on the official SportsCenter Instagram account, along with a video of him flaunting his blue-painted toes.
Famously, the 52-year-old, who is 7 feet 1 inch tall, wears a size 22 shoe.
When O’Neal was still playing in the NBA, he said that he had started painting his toes after almost missing a game due to a torn toenail.
It seems that his mother assisted him in recovering for the match.
“I was like, ‘I ripped my toenail off,’ so [his mother] fixed it with some red polish, and I scored forty that game.” “You know what, I’m just going to start painting my toenails,” I said to myself.
The NBA legend also uploaded a video of himself getting a pedicure in July 2023, in which he could be seen clenching his toes with his nail technician.
That time, the ex-Celtics player went with a vivid green outfit.
Recent Bears draft pick Caleb Williams and NBA prospect Jared McCain (previously of Duke) have become well-known for painting their fingernails, contributing to the rise in nail art in sports.
The New York Post was able to get public data indicating that O’Neal owns properties in Nevada, Texas, Georgia, and Florida.
The majority of the 52-year-old’s NBA career was spent with the Magic, Heat, and Lakers in Orlando, Los Angeles, and Miami, respectively.
