The 4-year-old daughter of Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant joined him on the court for warmups prior to Wednesday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
Jumping up and down, Kaari is shown holding the ball for a few seconds, dribbling a few times, and then handing it to her NBA father, who finishes the slam dunk.
This season, the Grizzlies haven’t had much to cheer about, and on Wednesday, the Raptors defeated them once more, 116-111.
Nonetheless, it’s encouraging for the team’s future to have the biggest player on the court, Murray, back and happy.
Leading the Grizzlies with 28 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds in Tennessee, Morant was suspended for 25 games before serving his second ban on December 19.
The Grizzlies qualified for a play-in game and were 5.5 games out of 10th place going into Wednesday night’s action.
With Morant back, Memphis’ prospects of moving up the Western Conference standings will undoubtedly increase.
The child was born to Morant and his partner, KK Dixon.
Kaari was born in 2019, but Dixon and Morant started dating in 2018.
After being selected second overall in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State, a mid-major, Morant is currently in his fifth season of play.
It will be more than a week before there is another chance to see Kaari at FedEx Forum as Memphis’ next home game is on January 12 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
