The fact that Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg have already decided what they will do in 2025 and beyond is beginning to put pressure on their competitors.

More details regarding one driver who seems to have made up his mind about the upcoming season have been released by the German publication Auto Bild.

Persuading drivers to join a team for the upcoming season and beyond will become increasingly challenging for teams that are currently lower in the Constructors’ Championship.

Hulkenberg left Haas at the end of the current season because Sauber, who will become the official Audi team in 2026, is an exception.

Esteban Ocon, who is about to begin his fourth season with Alpine, has made the decision that he will no longer be racing for the team after 2024.

He received his lone Formula 1 victory from the French team in 2021, but it appears he will now look for a fresh challenge on the circuit.

After 2024, Esteban Ocon wants to stop driving for Alpine.

At the Miami Grand Prix, Ocon finished in the top ten for the first time this season. He lost out to Alonso in a late duel for ninth place, but he gained enough ground on him to hold off Hulkenberg.

Even if the team had a great moment and made progress, Ocon acknowledged that things are still “not perfect” on the team.

When he barely missed contacting teammate Pierre Gasly during the opening lap, the 27-year-old received acclaim for his handling of the vehicle.

Martin Brundle even went so far as to remark that he accomplished something in Miami that he never would have imagined.

If either Gasly or Ocon decide they don’t want to race for the team next year, Bruno Famin, the principal of the Alpine team, is prepared to respond.

In 2025, it appears that the race winner will have other options available to him if Alpine is unable to make enough progress to persuade the Frenchman to reconsider.

The first six race weekends of the Formula 1 season have provided a wealth of action and information for teams and drivers trying to plan for the future.

Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso are starting to put pressure on their rivals since they have already made plans for 2025 and beyond.

The German magazine Auto Bild has more information about a driver who appears to have made up his mind about the 2017 season.

Teams lower in the Constructors’ Championship will find it harder and harder to convince drivers to join them for the 2019 season and beyond.

Since Sauber is an exception—they will become the official Audi team in 2026—Hulkenberg left Haas at the end of the current season.

The decision has been reached by Esteban Ocon, who will soon start his fourth season with Alpine, will leave the club after 2024.

The French team gave him his only Formula 1 triumph in 2021, but it seems he will now search for a new challenge on the track.

Esteban Ocon wishes to leave Alpine as a driver after 2024.

Ocon placed in the top ten at the Miami Grand Prix for the first time this year. In a late struggle for ninth position, he was defeated by Alonso, but he earned enough advantage over him to keep Hulkenberg at bay.

Ocon said that although the team had a fantastic moment and made progress, things are still “not perfect” on the team.

Despite his close call with teammate Pierre Gasly on the first lap, the 27-year-old’s handling of the car won him praise. Esteban Ocon: Alpine musí zlepšit své závodní tempo - SvětFormule.cz

Martin Brundle even said that he did something in Miami that he never would have thought possible.

The Alpine team’s principal, Bruno Famin, is ready to react if Gasly or Ocon decide they do not want to race for the team the following season.

It looks like the winner of the race in 2025 will have other choices if Alpine can’t move forward quickly enough to convince the Frenchman to change his mind.
