LeBron James attended his son Bronny’s second and last scrimmage of the NBA Draft combine on Wednesday, sitting in the second row.
At the NBA Draft Combine, Bronny James had a lackluster performance in his first scrimmage on Tuesday but showed improvement in his second opportunity on Wednesday. In 23 minutes, he scored a team-high 13 points to help Team St. Andrews defeat Team Love 90–83.
After one season of college, he entered the transfer portal on April 5 and declared for the draft. In May of last year, he committed to USC from nearby Chatsworth’s Sierra Canyon School.
In the game on Wednesday, the 19-year-old scored 13 points on 4 of 10 shots, dished out two 3-pointers, and added two steals. In the second of two scrimmages, Bronny finished tied for the game’s top scorer with 13 points as Team St. Andrews defeated them 90-83.
In the early going of the game, he also made back-to-back baskets in catch-and-shoot scenarios, one from mid-range and the other from 3-point range. A few moments later, he found a fantastic pocket pass to a cutting Alex Karaban.
All of the best prospects, including Bronny, had to show up for measurements, athletic testing, and drills as part of the NBA combine, which began on Monday. On the first day, there were various intriguing events that NBA scouts and executives could observe, such as the top lottery prospects competing against each other in pertinent drills.
LeBron Son not only finished with a game-high-tying 13 points, but he also demonstrated good decision-making when dribbling into pull-ups and shooting with confidence from beyond the arc. We’ll refer to this part of the week’s basketball action as “unscripted” basketball because it ended on Wednesday.
