The well-known father of Bronny James was present on Wednesday to witness his son compete at the NBA draft combine.
At Bronny’s second and last scrimmage of the combine, LeBron James arrived wearing a black hoodie and sat in the second row.
During the previous season, Bronny’s games at Southern California were often attended by the NBA’s career scoring leader, along with his spouse and daughter. LeBron James has expressed his desire to join his son’s team on several occasions.
After finishing his 21st season, the four-time MVP and four-time NBA champion has the option to opt out of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and become a free agent. However, he also admitted that he hasn’t “given much thought lately” to playing with his kid after the team’s season-ending loss to Denver.
Following a single collegiate season, Bronny James is debating whether to enter the pros. On April 5, he registered for the draft and went via the transfer site.
Bronny James, a top recruit in the country, committed to USC last May from Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California, staying close to home. However, last summer, things took an unexpected turn.
James required surgery after going into cardiac arrest during a basketball practice at USC in late July due to a congenital cardiac abnormality. He was absent for the season’s opening month. In 25 games for the Trojans, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
