The Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic, suffered a 115-70 away loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night.
The Nuggets lost the opportunity to wrap up the series.
At three points apiece, the two clubs will play Game 7 in Denver on Sunday.
Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic met with the media following the defeat, and he was pretty forthright (h/t NBA TV)
Jokic: “They beat our a**. They were better than us in every segment of the game. We need to accept it. Take it and just try to be better next time. When you lose by 45, it’s not something that happens every day. Just accept it, you know. I’m cool with it.”
In his 36 minutes of action, Jokic shot 9/19 from the field and 0/4 from three-point range to finish with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists.
The Nuggets’ field goal and three-point percentages were also at 30.2% and 19.4%, respectively.
The All-Star guard Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 27 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in just 34 minutes of play. He also shot 8/17 from the field and 4/9 from three points.
The Timberwolves also made 46.5% of their field goals and 37.5% of their three-pointers.
The winner of the series will play either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.
As they head into Game 6 in Dallas on Saturday, the Mavs lead that series 3-2.
