Denver Nuggets Announce Signing of New Talent: Trey Alexander

So far, the Denver Nuggets have kept a low profile in free agency. While Denver and Russell Westbrook have expressed mutual interest, the nine-time All-Star is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and would have to be transferred directly to the Nuggets or bought out in order to join the 2023 NBA champions.

In addition to not making any major moves, the Nuggets have lost some players from their rotation. Starting shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has signed a contract with the Orlando Magic, while backup point guard Reggie Jackson was traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

While they are yet to make a huge move, Denver has added a new player. It was revealed on Thursday that the two-way signing of Trey Alexander had been made official.

Alexander spent three years at Creighton, averaging 17.6 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 4.7 APG in his final season. Two-way contracts are rarely discussed, yet they are frequently critical components of a team’s overall structure. Two-way contracts allow players to play in both the NBA and the G League without counting against a team’s 15-man roster.

Quality two-way acquisitions can provide Denver with organizational insurance, which is always vital when building up a squad.
