NBA insider Shams Charania writes that the Warriors, who are the team most eager to acquire the forward, consider the Jazz’s asking price for Lauri Markkanen to be a “non-starter.”
Moses Moody, future draft picks, and pick exchanges are what Golden State is providing, but according to Charania, the Jazz are demanding more.
Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski, two young, promising talents, are also being questioned by the franchise.
A few hours later, the seasoned NBA insider disclosed that Podziemski is the Jazz player most likely to make a significant impact.
According to Charania, the Jazz “do not seem to want to move Lauri Markkanen,” according to SiriusXM NBA Radio. However, “could the Golden State Warriors include Brandin Podziemski along with, as far as I’ve been informed, three first-round picks, three or four unprotected pick swaps, and three or four second-round picks…
What about Kuminga, then? Shams was questioned.
According to Charania, “Kuminga is a name, but from what I’ve been told, the Jazz are more focused on Brandin Podziemski and his inclusion in the deal.” “Every pick is included in the agreement. Additionally, I believe that from the Warriors’ point of view, it’s Podziemski, but there aren’t all the picks, and if there are all the picks, then Podziemski won’t exist.
Apparently, Kuminga was left out of the Paul George trade negotiations with the Clippers earlier this month by the Dubs.
Since July 1, the Warriors have been chasing Markkanen; but, according to Shams, the teams might have come to a standstill.
According to Charania, “there may be some back and forth in this, but both sides are kind of entrenched at where they are right now, saying nothing is going to change.” Time will tell, then. However, I believe the Jazz are quite at ease with Lauri Markkanen being extended.
